Day 134 - Mum

Well since I didn't get to see my Mum for Mothers Day, today, I thought that my photo should be of the little man that made me Mum and made my Mum, Nanna. Hope that made sense.

On my second Mothers Day ever, Henry presented me with a card (complete with a badge that said "Awesome Mum" lol) and perfume. He also handed over the little painting he did for me at daycare. Henry loves handing presents out!

Commonly you hear that Mothers Day should be Mum's Day Off. Today I wouldn't have wanted a "Day Off" from being Henry's Mum. Among other things, Henry learned to say "Thank you Mummy" this morning and has been using it when I push his chair in or pass him things. How cute is that?

Happy Mothers Day!

To inject a little inspiration into my blog this month, I have decided to play along with the challenge presented on Fat Mum Slim's blog (www.fatmumslim.com.au) and for today the theme was Day 13: Mum

Day 69 - Family Dinner

We had a late dinner tonight after Mum, David and Dani arrived at about 8.30. Jenna and Henry ate earlier and were in bed when we enjoyed a chicken korma, with a nice little range of chutneys on the side. You may remember I posted last week about the apples that we 'grew'. I made a nice sweet and spicy chutney with them last weekend and it went very well with the curry!

Day 45 - The Ongoing Battle... Dale Vs his MIL

Can you see in this picture of Dale, the very slight smirk on his face? Yes Dale is playing Words with Friends, with my Mum again... Mum thinks she will beat him one day, but clearly from this picture, Dale thinks otherwise. Dale is exceptionally good at word games, which doesn't surprise me, as he is a good writer as well. I often hear Dale let out an 'evil laugh' when he is busy with his iPad... It is always a fair indication that the game is going well on his side!

Day 26 - A Quiet Night with Sherlock

Dale and I had the rare opportunity to go to the movies tonight to see the second Sherlock Holmes movie, Game of Shadows. The cinema was pretty empty, actually, make that totally, so we got first pick of the seats before anyone else showed up (and there were only a few). As with the first Sherlock Holmes movie, Robert Downey Jr's character was hilarious, and although I sometimes found the special effects a little distracting, I was enjoying it, until I realised I could hardly keep my eyes open! Maybe we will have to wait for the DVD for this one!

Thanks to Mum for watching Henry!

Day 24 - Reading With Nanna

Henry is known for his love of books and there are always at least ten of his scattered about the lounge room! We have been reading with Henry since he was too small to realise and persisted when all he was interested in, was closing the book in the middle of reading. Mum arrived for a couple of days' visit today and Henry enjoyed sharing his favourite book, which we call The Puppy Book (because it is about a puppy who visits all the different animals on the farm). Henry has really been into this book ever since he got a bit more talkative and he loves making all the animal noises to accompany!
