Welcome to my 2012 project, which for this year is a Project 366! My aim for my page is to publish one photo everyday that depicts what is happening in my life. The idea is to keep this as a record, later in printed form, to enjoy years down the track.

Day 132 - Kitchen
I've already used a picture of both my own kitchen and my dream kitchen on the blog this year, so I had to try and find something different today. Henry and his Nanna Glenda spent some time peeling and cutting up apples to make an apple tarte tatin for dessert tonight. Apple is one of Henry's earliest words and he listened keenly as Nanna told him all the things that you can do with apples, at the same time as helping to put the peeled ones in the bowl. He clinked glasses with Nanna afterwards (she with a glass of wine and he with a cup of apple juice). Oh and the tarte tatin worked out better than my last one which was more a toffee tart!
To inject a little inspiration into my blog this month, I have decided to play along with the challenge presented on Fat Mum Slim's blog (www.fatmumslim.com.au) and for today the theme was Day 11: Kitchen

Day 33 - Freecycle Apple Sauce
We don't often have pork chops but we did tonight for something different. Since we have a stack of sage in the garden, I shallow fried some and then served the chops with the sage and some apple sauce given to me a little while ago.
The apple sauce was given to me by a man who I gave our old coffee table to. He was a mosaic artist from Bungendore, who accepted my offer of the table made on freecycle. I love using freecycle and I have given away a number of things lately including the coffee table, boxfuls of VHS tapes, 2 spare microwave plates and 5 huge bagfuls of plastic bags to a woman who fuses the plastic to make handbags! It really is a very friendly way to find new home for unwanted things without adding them to landfill. Not only did I receive apple sauce and plum jam, but I have also been promised photos of the mosaic coffee table and a photo of the handbag resulting from the plastic bags!
