Welcome to my 2012 project, which for this year is a Project 366! My aim for my page is to publish one photo everyday that depicts what is happening in my life. The idea is to keep this as a record, later in printed form, to enjoy years down the track.

Day 140 - A Favourite Place
I think for many people, their hometown would be classed as a favourite place. We went to Sydney this weekend for Mum's birthday dinner and this coincided well with the theme for today's photo. Interestingly, we happened to have a chat in the car when keeping an eye out for a sign and I was commenting that an I Heart Blacktown Tshirt (which I believe are sold by the Blacktown Council) would also be a suitable subject. Blacktown is also a place that has good memories for me and that I am proud of. Sydney is not all about it's beautiful harbour, Bondi Beach and famous landmarks, but rather, it is the place that I grew up, went to school and lived for the first 31 years of my life!
To inject a little inspiration into my blog this month, I have decided to play along with the challenge presented on Fat Mum Slim's blog (www.fatmumslim.com.au) and for today the theme was Day 19: A Favourite Place

Day 13 - Donna Hay's Pavlova
After being very happy with my first ever 'white' pavlova a couple of weeks ago, I decided to make another since I had 4 egg whites still left over from making ice-cream earlier in the week. I say a white pavlova because I had only ever made Nigella Lawson's chocolate pav (which I have made very regularly over the years.) I used the Donna Hay recipe on the side of the cornflour box to make this. I am yet to try another recipe given to me by Sue at work for Flo Bielke-Peterson's pavlova, but it only needs 2 egg whites and I had 4 to use up. We took this one with us, in the car, to Sydney for dinner tonight. As I was occupied with Henry, Dale decorated and proudly presented 'his' pavlova to the table. Thanks Dale, it was delicious!
